Bajaj Auto Foundation announces women engineering scholarship commitment
Bajaj Auto Foundation, the CSR arm of Bajaj Auto, has announced a ₹400 crore commitment over the next decade to support women engineers.
The initiative will be carried out through the Rupa Rahul Bajaj Scholarship for Women in Engineering. In its first year, the programme will support 506 women engineering scholars across India. Selected students may receive up to ₹8 lakh in financial aid, along with mentorship, industry exposure and leadership development support.
The scholarship is part of Bajaj Auto Foundation’s broader skilling and STEM-focused CSR work. Reports also note that the foundation has outlined a broader ₹1,500 crore skilling plan to support technical education and vocational skills in India.
The announcement is significant because women remain underrepresented in core engineering and manufacturing roles, despite rising participation in higher education and STEM learning. Financial assistance, mentoring and industry exposure can help more women students move from engineering education into technical careers.
For companies, such interventions are increasingly becoming part of the larger inclusion conversation. Change in Content has earlier reported on companies investing in gender equality and has also tracked the top inclusive companies of 2025.
The Bajaj Auto Foundation programme adds to this conversation by focusing on women in engineering. It is a field where support often needs to extend beyond admission to include mentorship, industry readiness, and career pathways.
The Rupa Rahul Bajaj Scholarship for Women in Engineering is expected to support students pursuing B.E. and B.Tech programmes and help improve women’s access to core engineering careers.
